John H. Bailey, III

JOHN H. BAILEY, III attended public schools in his hometown of Danville, Kentucky.  He graduated from Davidson College in 1967 with an AB Degree in History.  He has a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt Law School and served on the Editorial Board of the Vanderbilt Law Review.  Mr. Bailey served in the Field Artillery of the US Army for a short time after graduating from Law School.  He practiced law with the Nashville law firm, Bass, Berry & Sims from 1971 until 1996 (specializing in all types of credit facilities and problem workouts and bankruptcy).  After leaving his law firm, he continued his professional work as a professional Mediator and Arbitrator until 1999.  In 1999, he and a small group of Nashville investors purchased Cumberland Swan, an old-line manufacturer of private label liquid fill personal care products; John was General Counsel and EVP of Cumberland Swan until the Company was sold in 2006.  From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Bailey was Executive VP of FirstBank in Nashville with primary responsibility for special assets.
